Kundalini Yoga is an ancient form of yoga practiced for centuries but more recently formalised by Yogi Bhajan into a contemporary form of yoga that can be practiced by anyone regardless of age or ability.
Kundalini Yoga incorporates the physical, mental and spiritual aspects of yoga into a cohesive and integrated system using yoga postures, breath, mantras (chanting) and meditation.
It is the yoga of experience! You will connect with your true nature and inner teacher so you can radiate your beautiful energy to all. Life is a blissful gift and is to be enjoyed. A Kundalini practice will give you the tools to project yourself so that you can be the very best you can possibly be.
Generally, this style of practice is slow paced and gentle, with an introduction to the basic yoga poses. All yoga types are derived from Hatha yoga.
It is an old system that includes the practice of asanas (yoga postures) and pranayama (breathing exercises), which help bring peace to the mind and body, preparing the body for deeper spiritual practices such as meditation.
Baby Yoga & Massage
Inspired by seeing the bonds grow, the delight on the faces of baby and parent as we do our wonderful baby yoga and massage sequences and share precious moments together. Parent-baby yoga and massage classes are much more than just fun and some stretching.
The classes last around an hour and involve yoga for mum, yoga for baby and some lovely deep relaxation together. It is postnatal recovery for vitality and healing, with a mix of practices passive stretching and rhythmic massage movement that combine with singing and action songs for the baby.
Post-pregnancy is a unique time for mothers and babies. New parents are often exhausted from the daily routine of caring for a baby and of course, the sleepless nights, and adjusting to a changing body. This is why Couture Fitness and Yoga concentrates on nurturing and support.
The aim is to ensure all parents take away from our courses a positive experience, where they feel empowered to help their little ones through enjoying one-to-one time with their baby. For mum, we will focus on gently working the abdominal muscles, slowly getting mum back to pre-baby shape and helping to build strength, stamina and fitness.
Dad's Baby Massage & Yoga Workshops
An opportunity for Dad to have some special 'baby-bonding' time by learning specific baby massage techniques. The workshops also offer a chance to meet with other Dads.
